Curl Tv launches CurlTv Japan

The Pacific Curling Championships kicked off Nov. 21 in Karuizawa, Japan and the Japanese Women’s team will be looking to continue their dominance over other women’s teams in the region.

With the exception of 2001, when Korea won, Team Japan has won every tournament since 1991, the year of the Pacific’s inception. This year, the team skipped by Moe Meguro will try to continue the country’s streak.

Over on the men’s side, Hugh Millikin and Team Australia will try to regain his nation’s dominance over the Pacific Curling Championship. Australia’s men’s teams won from ‘91 to ’97, before New Zealand and Japan took over from there on in. Yet Australia is defending champs at the Pacific and Millikin is keen to repeat.

The top two Men’s teams and the top Women’s team will earn berths to the World Championships. The Men’s Worlds will take place in Edmonton, Alta. while the Women’s Worlds are happening in Aomori, Japan.

CurlTV.com is broadcasting the Pacific Curling Championships up until Nov. 26. The commentating will be in Japanese, but the action will be classic curling.
